Guided Hunts with Family Friendly Lodging
Whitetail Deer hunts with potential opportunities for Axis Deer and Wild Boar. I developed a love and passion for shooting and hunting in my youth, first with small game and then hunting deer as I came of age. My brother and I spent long days perusing game, often coming up empty handed but always loving the adventure of the hunt. Over time I honed my hunting and shooting skills to a high level where success is much more frequent, but this has also decreased the challenge and thus excitement for me.
Requirements
To ensure a safe and successful hunt, all guests must bring a Valid Texas Hunting License, and a properly zeroed rifle with ammunition. Hunters are responsible for their own food and drinks unless other arrangements are made; high-quality well water is provided.
All hunters must sign a liability waiver prior arrival. Wounded animals will be considered harvested at the guide’s discretion. Please note, hunts may be canceled at any time due to safety concerns or misconduct. For more info or to book, visit bookyourhunt.com.
Entertainment
Boarders San Saba River for private access for fishing and cooling off (water depths typically 3-4’). Nearby towns: Brady 15 min., Mason 30 min., Llano 40 min., Fredericksburg 60 min., and San Saba 50 min.
Local attractions include Wines of Dotson Cervantes (5 min. drive) and three beautiful State Parks within ~60 min. including Colorado Bend, Enchanted Rock, & Inks Lake.
Location
Our location boarders San Saba River near Voca TX, about 1.5 miles from the intersection of Hwy 71 & Country Rd 208, Texas 76887.
Drive Times to River Hawk Ranch: Austin ~2 hours, San Antonio ~2.3 hours, Dallas/Fort Worth ~3.5 hours, and Houston ~4.5 hours.
River Hawk Ranch has high-speed internet and modern streaming TVs.

Verified BYH HunterAndrew was very responsive and easy to work with. He provided clear information on check-in and features of the property. He also shared fun activities in/around the ranch. We checked in late in the afternoon and went to Brady for Dinner. Andrew was gracious to let us use the outdoor fire pit in the evening. It was very relaxing to watch sky full of stars and sip wine next to the fire pit. The cabin was very quiet. We slept very well. We cooked breakfast in the cabin, which had anything we needed (non-sticking pan, utensils, spices, etc.). We opted to eat breakfast on the porch to enjoy a peaceful morning at the ranch. We walked around the property after breakfast and saw several deer’s. The property is close to a river. We could fish or kayak although we did not have time to do it in this trip. We went to a winery nearby in the afternoon and tried some good wines. Overall, it was a great experience. We will definitely go back.

Verified BYH HunterThe Riverhawk Ranch cabin is a great place to escape and relax in the hill country. Day one we took a late afternoon walk around the property and enjoyed seeing deer. We ended the day with wine and watching the peaceful sunset. Next day, we woke up early to enjoy a vibrant sunrise and coffee. Later in the day we had a blast paddling the kayaks and a paddleboard around the river’s large pool bordering the property. That night we grilled steaks on the firepit and enjoyed dinner overlooking the river valley. In the morning we took our bikes out and had a nice ride to the low water crossing.
The owner made sure we had a great stay. He gave us a ranch tour in his Gator and explained the ranch’s grass-fed beef operation. The cabin kitchenette was perfect for preparing our meals and had a good set of supplies. The bathroom was clean and the copper tub a nice touch. The space was open and the bed comfortable. The internet worked well. It was just the experience we were seeking!
